Facebook is a great source for finding trends. I happen to come across one the other day and the trend happened to be faux freckles. Many women are very envious of other women who have a lot of freckles. Usually you want something you don't have but now you can have freckles. To me, I think its a big crazy that people would care that much about freckles to do this.
In the past, I have heard of girls actually drawing on freckles with their brown eyeliner. I don't really think it looks that natural, and what happens if you smudge it? That would be an awkward conversation to try and explain why your freckle is smudged. Either way, its something people do. I do understand wanting to experiment and try a look that is different.
The video I saw on Facebook was someone drawing on fake freckles. It was actually face tattoos of freckles that you can put on your face. Remember being a little kid and there would be fake tattoos at fairs and things? All you have to do is use a little water and some pressure and you have the tattoo on you- well its exactly that.
I think this doesn't look natural but is a better option then drawing them on.
Either way, it is a trend and a new way of applying faux freckles.

Metallic Eyeshadows
Eye shadow is the most creative process when it comes to doing your makeup. You have so much freedom to do anything you want to make your eyes pop. There are so many eye shadows to choose from. They range anywhere form glitter, matte, dark, neutrals, bold, and metallic. I am sure I am missing some more but those are the most common.
The trend I will be talking about is called "The Watery Eye" which means that the eye shadow, a shimmering metallic shade, is wiped across the lids. This effect will be left with a soft wetness, hence the name of this trend. This look was first seen at the Derek Lam's Show back in 2013. Then this trend took off and was seen at many other shows, each one giving it their own twist on the look.
This look gives your eyes sheer shimmer which brings out the natural look of your eyes. It makes it look as if your eyes are glowing because of how sheer and shimmer it is.
How to get the look:
Step one- prime your eyelids
Step two- choose a sheer metallic eye shadow-usually a neutral color but you can try darker colors. The creamy eye shadows work best because it gives that wet look and if it isn't creamy enough then add a little bit of Vaseline.
Step three: Swipe across the lids

Feather Lashes
This is the most ridiculous and extreme trend that I have seen in a while. It is feather lashes. Many women are obsessed with the full big lashes that make your eyes stand out. So many of them put fake lashes on them because their real lashes aren't cutting it. I have only put fake lashes on once and that was for Halloween. I love the look of them, but its such a hassle. I like the more natural look and using those definitely doesn't look natural. The beauty world has step it up a notch and now are selling feather lashes. I have seen this look on models but that is it.
This trend would be good for Halloween or like dress up parties. I don't see much else of a use for them then that. However, its a trend and it caught my attention.
Feather lashes are just to make your look more dramatic and unique but there is a trick when you want to where them.
The whole point of the feather lashes isn't to make you look like a bird, but just to add length and dimension. When choosing the lashes make sure they aren't too long. Obviously they need to be longer then your real lashes. The key is to make them at a length which adds to the dramatic effect but doesn't look over the top at the same time.
Feather lashes is one of the more crazy trends but of course, models make them look great. You just have to know when and how to use them. It is a tricky one.

Glitter Lips
Model Bella Hadid
The newest makeup trend is glitter lips. It is self explanatory- it's lip gloss with a twist: you add glitter to the mix. It is messy, but the look is very stunning. I am sure people have messed around with glitter and putting it on your lips, however, Pat McGrath made this idea become a trend. This look is mostly seen on models and red carpets, mostly because of how messy it is.
I see this trend all over, it started with models like, Bella Hadid, to make up gurus on YouTube trying it out. Usually women get their inspiration from models and that is how it can become so big.
This look is if you want to wear something plain but want your lips to be the bold statement.
Step One: Prep your lips with chap stick.
Step Two: Choose lipstick color and apply to your lips.
Step Three: Choose the same color of glitter and mix it in with clear lip gloss.
Step Four: Once you have a good consistency & enough glitter for your preference go ahead and apply.
Step Five: Once your lips are coated with the glitter, take your hairspray of your choice and seal it in.
Tips: If you want to wear this out to a party or really wherever make sure you hold it in with hairspray. The stickiness of the hairspray will help the fallout be at a minimum.
Fun Fact: This was a big hit at the Fendi Runway Show in May 2016
